1. What is nanocellulose

Nanocellulose is a natural fiber material with a particle size of 10 ~100 nanometers and a length of several microns. It is divided into: nanocellulose fibers ( CNF ), nanocrystalline cellulose ( CNC ) and bacterial cellulose ( BC ). Among them, CNF and CNC are most widely used in the industrial field.

2. Preparation method of nanocellulose

1. Mechanical dissociation method (high pressure homogeneity)

Cellulose raw materials are broken into nanoscale sizes by high pressure, suitable for large-scale production.

Advantages: Green and environmentally friendly, chemically free

⚠️Disadvantages : High energy consumption and high equipment requirements

2. Acid hydrolysis method (sulfuric acid hydrolysis)

Suitable for the preparation of nanocrystalline cellulose ( CNC ), with high crystallinity and stable performance.

Advantages: Uniform size and high crystallinity

⚠️Disadvantages : Acid liquid needs to be recycled and has high environmental protection requirements

3. TEMPO oxidation method (functional treatment)

The cellulose hydroxyl group is selectively oxidized by the TEMPO/NaClO system to improve its dispersion properties and surfactivity.

Advantages: With carboxylic group, easy to function, suitable for high-end applications
